International Student Orientation

Orientation is MANDATORY for all new and transfer international students.

Fall 2023 International Student Orientation is scheduled to be an online event on Friday, August 11, 2023.

The International Office looks forward to meeting our newest international students and welcoming you to the Blinn College District!

Orientation registration is part of the finalization process. Once you complete your initial admissions requirement, more information will be sent to your email. If you have any questions, please contact international@blinn.edu.

IMPORTANT: Failing to complete a pre-arrival check-in, attend the posted orientation date, or arriving late to orientation will result in an immediate termination of a student’s I-20 and students will automatically be moved to the next semester term. No exceptions will be made to this policy. We recommend that you plan to arrive in Bryan/College Station no later than 24 hours prior to the orientation date to ensure your attendance.

Location

Fall 2023 International Student Orientation will be completely online through the Zoom platform . More information on how to join the online event will be sent to students who received an I - 20 from Blinn College and completed the required online orientation module .

Time

Students must be available online with a video-capable device for the entire event from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.

Pre-Arrival Check-In

New International Students are required to enter/arrive in the United States by Tuesday, August 22, 2023 and complete an online check-in by 11:59 p.m. The online check - in process will be provided to new students through their myBLINN portal. Failure to arrive in the United states by this arrival deadline will result in a termination of your I-20. Do not schedule flights to arrive beyond this date as you must be present in the U.S. for the program start date on August 23, 2023 regardless of when your classes begin.

Online Event System Requirements

Students should ensure they have the minimum system requirements for participation in online courses to also be able to join the orientation online event.
