Message From the Chancellor 8-24-2020

Dear faculty, staff, and students,

Welcome to the start of the Fall 2020 semester. I hope you are as excited as we are for the academic year ahead. While this term will see a number of significant changes, our commitment to you and your success remains the same.

To prepare for this semester, Blinn College developed the Back With Blinn plan, which is designed to provide a safe environment for all our employees, students, and visitors. This plan is available at, and contains information regarding campus health and safety, tips for stopping the spread of COVID-19, our self-certification process, academics, classroom procedures, campus housing, and campus services and activities.

I invite each of you to review this important information, and particularly would like to note two requirements for individuals who enter Blinn College facilities this Fall. The first is that all employees, students, and visitors must wear a face mask or face covering while they are on campus. Please note that face masks are not a substitute for proper social distancing and that individuals who wear face shields must also wear face masks or coverings.

We also require all individuals to self-certify each day that they have not tested positive for COVID-19, are not showing symptoms, and have not been in the presence of anyone who has. To complete this required self-certification, visit to use the web app or download the app to your mobile device in the App Store (Apple devices) or Google Play (Android devices). Register with your Blinn email address and each day you will receive a notification asking you to self-certify. For the safety of our campus community, we ask all employees and students to complete the 10-second self-certification process daily, even if you do not plan to attend campus that day.

To ensure that all students are aware of Blinn’s COVID-19 procedures and share our commitment to maintaining the safety of our campus community, we have sent a COVID-19 training course from to your Blinn email address. Students, please complete the 10- to 15-minute course this week to maintain your eCampus access.

Once again, I encourage you to visit for further details about these and the many other steps we have taken to make our campuses safe for your return.

Faculty and staff, I would like to once again thank you for your work these past few months to prepare us for today. Your commitment to our students is an inspiration to all.

Students, I would like to thank you for choosing Blinn College. Our energetic, creative, and dedicated faculty and staff are excited to support you this semester, and together, we look forward to making this a safe and successful term.
